Scandinavian co operation is the theme of this issue of Horisonten. We have celebrated services here in Danish, Norwegian and Swedish for 125 years. The choir sings songs from the three countries and we have schools, library and food from the Scandinavian countries. This co operation gladdens the soul and is worthy to nourish.

Renovations are in full swing thanks to contributions from the Swedish Church in Uppsala and the members of the church. The veranda has got new shelves. The coffee room will soon have new Carl Larsson's Sundborn like chairs made here in Melbourne and you can see a sample on page 23.

Our confirmands have formed a little choir and can be heard during our services to everybody's enjoyment.

Business lunch in Toorak House is held this year on 8th October. This is one of the fundraisers for the church and we again appeal for your help to stock the smorgasbord. Please contact Martina and let her know what delicacies you like to contribute.

Meatball competition!!!!! 19th September at 7pm is the time for this culinary highlight of the year.

Sally Boyd, professor in linguistics, will visit the church on 25th September to talk about saving the Swedish language.

Tuesday 14th October the church will welcome Sonya Hartnett, this year's winner of the prestigious Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. This visit is organized by Penguin Australia, Melbourne University and the book club.
